Glatt Fluid Bed Buyer & Seller

The Glatt Fluid Bed is a piece of equipment that many within the processing industry utilizes. Especially those in the pharmaceutical industry. It is a super-efficient way to control particle drying for processing applications. We buy and sell new and used equipment all the time, so check with us to see what sort of Glatt Fluid Bed we have in stock. There are different models that adhere to different standards. All of the used equipment we sell is fully refurbished for use. So you can purchase in confidence when you turn to us.

What is a Glatt Fluid Bed?

Glatt Fluid BedWhen it comes to drying particles, fluidized bed drying is the way to go. It offers gentle and even drying of wet solids, delivering optimal results. There is an intensive heat/mass exchange of the fluidized bed product that makes this drying method effective, while ultimately saving you time. This sort of technology is also suitable for post-drying of spray granulated or extruded products with very low residual moisture.

The entire processing industry has the capabilities to utilize a Glatt fluid bed. In the pharmaceutical industry in particular, this method is now the norm. Replacing the more time-consuming method of drying in a tray. And not only does this method save you loads of time, but it also offers a much more controlled and uniform drying process. When you dry in a tray, there can uneven results. But you do not need to worry about that with a fluidized bed.

How a Glatt Fluid Bed Works Best

When it comes to the drying process, it does not matter whether the product you are drying was created in the fluidized bed or a high-shear mixer or whether in batch or continuously there is one constant. And that is that with fluidized bed drying, the drying must take place in a thermodynamic equilibrium. What this means is that the if inlet air temperature is too high, then a surface crust might develop, which limits the drying process. This crust often prevents or obstructs the moisture from being brought from the deeper layers, to the outside. And what happens then is that the drying process takes a lot longer to finish.

For more cases, not only does the moisture need to evaporate to a certain degree, but the drying takes place during the entire spray process. So, too high of an inlet air temperature may lead to unsubstantial liquid bridges and poor results. Properly use the Glatt fluid bed for efficient results and gentle, even drying of the product.

Glatt Fluid Bed Dryers, Processors, and Granulators

The world of Glatt fluid beds evolve into various types, such as fryers, processors and granulators. You can find these various types of fluid beds from Glatt when you search our website. These different types offer different features and benefits. So, depending on what your needs are, we can help you get the machinery you need.

The Glatt fluid bed processor offers modular processing applications that permit top spray, bottom spray and Wurster coating for fluidized bed and spouted bed or rotor processes in continuous or batch operation. When it comes to a Glatt fluid bed dryer, it is capable of drying, mixing and coating tablets, hard/soft gel capsules, metal beads & seeds as per the fluidized bed system from .5 to 3.0kg. These systems can also dry conventional granules, powders & crystalline substances.
